Your home away from home

Arabella House is a beautiful Victorian town house. Built in lakeland slate  and surrounded by a dry stone wall and sandstone, she really is impressive on the outside. We have recently renovated the full house and adapted the layout, to restore all the original features to this home, and make it a luxurious holiday destination. 

The house is set across 4 floors, with steps on the approach to the front of the house. There is parking for 2 cars at the front of the house. There is pedestrian access at ground level at the rear of the property.

We can take a maximum of 12 guests. 

There are 6 bedrooms; two with super king size beds, two with king size beds and two with full size bunk beds. 

Super soft luxurious high thread count cotton sheets dress the generously sized beds. We've chosen layers of plush mattress enhancers, plump pillows and thick duvets for ultimate comfort and a cosy nights sleep.

There are two huge family bathrooms serving the super king and bunk bedrooms. These each have a large freestanding bath with beautiful views over the fells behind the house; so you can sink into a bubble bath whilst gazing at nature. 

The family bathrooms also have generously sized walk in showers, and his and hers sinks. 

The two king size rooms have en-suites attached with walk in showers. There is also a WC on the ground floor. 

We have chosen to keep both luxury and nature in mind for the bathrooms by using natural stone, marble and timber for the fittings. Large, fluffy Egyptian cotton towels are provided for your use. 

We also provide luxurious, eco-friendly hand, hair and body wash in all the bathrooms. The formula is made with essential oils; it is biodegradable, cruelty-free, vegan, dermatologically tested, and free from parabens and SLS. 

There are plenty of living areas you can make use of during your stay, no matter what activities you have planned. 

On the ground floor you will find open plan living and dining areas, with ample seating for 12 people to gather round, eat, drink, celebrate, play games and spend time together.

Connected to this area is the beautiful rustic, country style kitchen. 

With a large Smeg range gas cooker and electric fan oven, it is easy to rustle up delicious meals for your group. 

There is also a fitted Siemens microwave, making heating tasty treats a breeze. There is a full sized fridge, generously sized freezer and plenty of cupboard space to store all your food and drink during your stay. 

We have equipped the kitchen with a good variety of beautiful crockery, cutlery, baking, cooking and serving equipment for those who love to self cater during their stay. 

There is a beautiful antique tea set, table cloth and rustic glass wear; all in keeping with the aesthetics of the house. 

Should you wish to host a celebration or party during your stay, you will be sure to find everything you need provided and it will look and feel special for you and your guests.

On the first floor you will find another living area. 

This boasts simply magical views over the rooftops of Keswick town centre to the fells beyond. 

With a large corner sofa and bay window seating, it is our personal favourite room in the house. Lots of cushions, throws and blankets are provided, making it the ideal space for everyone to snuggle up for a movie night, read a book, or rest your weary legs after a long day hiking.

Underneath the bay window seating you will find baskets containing a selection of board and card games for all ages.

The Lake District gets a good amount of rainfall, which is what makes it so lush and keeps nature thriving here.

You will therefore love to know that we filled the hallway with a huge bench radiator and coat storage, so your boots and coats will dry off in no time here. 

Should you need to wash any clothes, swimwear and towels; you will enjoy using the pretty utility space tucked behind the kitchen. We have equipped this with a separate washing machine and tumble dryer, which has heat pump technology, easing your mind about the impact on the environment whilst you use it. 

We know that even on holiday we need to stay connected to family, friends or even work from time to time. We have therefore wired in the Wifi to gain as fast and secure connection possible on all levels of the house. 

A desk and extra chairs are provided, should you like to set up a work station in any of the rooms during your stay.
